25) Tezer Ünal
In our Career Talks series, our guest this time is Tezer Ünal!
You are all invited to our event, which will take place on Saturday, December 4, at 19:00.
Tezer Ünal is the CEO and co-founder of Softeal Information Technology, a company that provides specialized Fleet Management Systems solutions to high-end companies operating in the logistics sector. Although he initially worked in foreign trade and trade finance in the early years of his career, he later continued his career in engineering; as they say, "the fox eventually returns to its furrier shop." In this conversation, he will share the experiences gained over 35 years, the decisions made at career crossroads, and their outcomes with aspiring young engineering candidates eager to plan their futures and fulfill their dreams.
Tezer Ünal graduated from TED Ankara College in 1982. In the same year, he also served in the Turkish National Star Basketball Team, representing his country in the Balkan and European Junior Basketball Championships, and played basketball for Eczacıbaşı Genç and A Basketball Teams. After graduating from Boğaziçi University's Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 1986, he completed the master's courses at the Boğaziçi University Department of Economics in 1988. After working in roles such as Product Manager, Deputy Finance Manager, Systems Analyst, Project Manager, IT Director, Sales and Marketing Manager, and Department Director at expert and promising firms in the industry in our country, he founded Softeal Information Technology in 2009, where he became a partner and Chairman of the Board.
Softeal specializes in Fleet Management Systems and partners with Turkey's most prestigious and largest logistics companies. Although management is his primary duty, as he considers being involved in the operational side of the business as a hobby, he enjoys working on new algorithms whenever he gets the chance, developing software by sitting in front of the computer at night, testing new heavy-duty vehicle models when they are released, reading ISO and SAE protocol documents related to communication protocols, finding faults in products of branded companies manufacturing in the field, and reverse engineering on vehicle CAN bus systems.
Whenever he has the opportunity, he voluntarily gives awareness presentations to young people, serves as a role model, and ultimately finds happiness in impacting people's lives.
